UCD is Ireland’s largest university. The UCD Applied Language Centre offers general/specialist English language courses, EAP and English courses for teachers. The ALC offers courses for students who wish to improve their English before commencing study in an Irish University. These courses aim to improve language proficiency, develop study and communication skills for effective learning through English, build confidence and prepare students for independent learning, and provide an introduction to Irish culture and university life. A social programme is also organized. Our accommodation arrangements are of exceptionally high quality: self-catering apartments on campus, or accommodation on a part- board basis with an Irish family. Wi-Fi is available across UCD’s Belfield campus.
